Wall Street kicked off the week with a flurry of bold calls on some of the market's most closely watched names, and at least one stock just scored a target price hike of more than 50 percent from a major firm.

U. S. stock futures were mixed on Monday as investors further reduced expectations for an interest rate increase from the Federal Reserve in September following a run of softer economic data.

The longer Trumpflation remains unchecked, the bigger the consequences for Wall Street.

Such data could help the Federal Reserve keep interest rates low, which is positive for investors. The Fed has no good tool to fix both a stagnating economy and high inflation at the same time, which is why what’s called “stagflation” is seen as a worst-case scenario. Wall Street and economists will get more details about the Federal Reserve’s interest rate policy when the central bank releases minutes from the July meeting on Wednesday.

Wall Street is heading into the final stretch of the second-quarter earnings season riding the strongest pace of profit growth in five years—alongside fading bets on a Federal Reserve interest-rate hike, which should support stock performance deep into the autumn. The market’s most-watched analysts, however, are still forecasting end-of-year price targets for the that suggest meager gains over the coming months—even as they predict impressive profit growth over the coming quarters, without fretting too much about the amount investors will pay for it. Gains in the high 20% range are also forecast for both the third and fourth quarters, which would bring full-year growth to around 33.3%, or $360 a share in S&P 500 terms.
Dow futures were down 0.09%, while the S&P 500 futures climbed 0.09% and the Nasdaq-100 futures were up 0.25% at the time of writing.

Over the past six months, Zoom has been a great trade, beating the S&P 500 by 10.4%. Its stock price has climbed to $109.49, representing a healthy 23.5% increase. This was partly due to its solid quarterly results, and the performance may have investors wondering how to approach the situation.

J. M. Smucker trades at $121.13 per share and has stayed right on track with the overall market, gaining 14% over the last six months. At the same time, the S&P 500 has returned 13.1%.

JPMorgan has increased its 2026 S&P 500 price target to 8,000 from 7,800, pointing to an exceptionally strong second-quarter earnings season and growing evidence that massive artificial intelligence investments are translating into stronger business performance. MACOM currently trades at $308.10 and has been a dream stock for shareholders. It’s returned 404% since August 2021, blowing past the S&P 500’s 72.8% gain. The company has also beaten the index over the past six months as its stock price is up 26.2% thanks to its solid quarterly results.

Acuity Brands trades at $360.33 and has moved in lockstep with the market. Its shares have returned 17.9% over the last six months while the S&P 500 has gained 13%.

Reforming the Federal Reserve comes at a potentially steep cost to an already expensive stock market.

Gold recent rally is mostly due to five big buyers: four central banks and Tether, a company that deals in cryptocurrency. Tether is buying for the very reasons that central banks are—to diversify its holdings and hedge against inflation and significant dollar weakness, which Tether’s crypto stablecoin USDT is pegged to. In the first half, Tether bought more than 27 metric tons of gold—matching Kazakhstan.

nCino has had an impressive run over the past six months as its shares have beaten the S&P 500 by 7.4%. The stock now trades at $19.16, marking a 20.9% gain. This was partly due to its solid quarterly results, and the run-up might have investors contemplating their next move.

Reddit will join the S&P 500 next week, giving the wide-ranging online forum a boost in prestige and investments. Joining the S&P 500 is considered an achievement for a company because the index is a widely followed measure of the broader U.S. stock market’s health. Reddit's stock surged nearly 14% around midday Friday.

Citi continues to see a path for the S&P 500 to reach 8,100 by year-end after raising its full-year earnings forecast following a stronger-than-expected second-quarter reporting season. Strategists led by Scott Chronert said the fundamental forces underpinning the target “remain mostly in place,” although the next stage of the rally will likely require broader market participation and sustained confidence in artificial intelligence-related earnings.
