AI cloud company CoreWeave edged past Wall Street estimates for quarterly ‌revenue on Tuesday, driven by strong ‌demand for its computing services that power AI systems. So-called neoclouds such as CoreWeave ‌and peer Nebius, ⁠which offer hardware and cloud capacity to other technology companies, have seen ⁠demand skyrocket as a result of relentless enterprise spending on AI. CoreWeave, whose close ties with ​Nvidia have ​made it a key ​supplier of Nvidia's ‌AI chips, has attracted several high-profile customers so far this year.

Situational Awareness, an AI-focused hedge fund run by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, sold the bulk of its stock portfolio to Ken Griffin’s Citadel after being battered by heavy losses ‌in its tech holdings, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday. Situational was forced to unwind most of its ‌public equities portfolio, which included sizable holdings in several prominent AI names that have been rocked by the recent market selloff, the sources said, requesting anonymity as the discussions are ​confidential. The fund was under pressure to either raise fresh capital from investors or offload its entire book, and eventually chose the latter option, the sources added.
