In a keynote address in San Francisco, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella ​is expected to outline how the technology company plans to compete both in the cloud, where it is both an investor and a rival to firms such as OpenAI, and increasingly on PCs. But OpenClaw, which has gained popularity in China and helped Microsoft's longtime rival Apple sell Mac computers, and other such tools ​are also ​risky for most businesses to use.

Arm Holdings CEO Rene Haas said on Tuesday that it would be difficult to block the ‌export to China of CPUs that are useful for AI because of ‌their widespread use and as it would be difficult to block only AI CPUs. "CPUs are kind of ​like oil relative to the application space," Haas said in an interview with Reuters. Banning artificial intelligence CPUs would be nearly impossible because of the challenge of establishing specific performance thresholds and memory bandwidth limits as is possible with the ‌graphics processing units (GPUs) made by ⁠Nvidia, Haas said.

STMicroelectronics raised the revenue target for its ‌data centre business on ‌Tuesday, citing continued strong demand tied to ​AI infrastructure and progress in expanding capacity. The Franco-Italian chipmaker now expects data centre revenue of about $1 ‌billion in ⁠2026, compared with its previous forecast for revenue "nicely ⁠above" $500 million. "Assuming the current dynamic continues and with the current ​engagements we ​have, revenues ​could double in ‌2027," STMicro said in a statement.
