Bill Ackman unveiled six new holdings including Netflix, Visa and Mastercard, marking the billionaire investor's biggest portfolio overhaul in years. Ackman said on Thursday he acquired shares starting in the second quarter that will be held in his investment funds including his newest offering Pershing Square USA, which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in April. Along with Netflix, which Ackman held briefly in 2022 before selling at a loss, his funds are also investing in eye care firm Alcon, exchange operator Intercontinental Exchange and financial data provider S&P Global.

Microsoft once regarded the idea of quitting China as unthinkable. In the past five years, however, at least 15 Microsoft branch offices and joint ventures in China have been shut, corporate filings show, and Microsoft is pursuing what five company sources described as a strategy of retreat. The firm considered quitting the market in 2023 because some executives felt it took on too much geopolitical risk for too little economic return, one of them said, while stressing Microsoft has no current plans to exit.

Adyen, the Dutch firm that handles payments for Spotify and Microsoft, raised its annual revenue growth forecast on Thursday as it continued to win more customers and invest in its payments technology. Adyen now expects net revenue to grow between 21% and 23% in 2026, compared with a previous range of 20% to 22%. Half-year adjusted core earnings reached €641.5 million, against analysts' estimate of €647.2 million, reflecting higher costs from its recent acquisitions.

Several members of the group, including Microsoft (MSFT) and Apple (AAPL), posted solid results overall, though the post-earnings reaction was much stronger for MSFT.
