C3 Metals CEO on major new copper target at Khaleesi and Q4 drilling plans

C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CUAUF) CEO Dan Symons tells Proactive’s Stephen Gunnion that new gravity and magnetic surveys at the Khaleesi copper project in Peru have identified a major anomaly around two kilometres northeast of the main drill zone. The company has expanded the survey area by more than 65% to 1,500 hectares and plans to drill-test the new target in Q4. Symons said the main Khaleesi mineralised zone extends to 500 metres depth and remains open, while glacial cover means geophysics is key to identifying concealed copper-bearing magnetite skarns. A 3D IP survey is also due to start at the end of September, targeting potential porphyry or intrusive sources at depth. In Jamaica, assays from the Superblock gold project and a Freeport-McMoRan-funded deep drilling programme at Bellas Gate are expected in Q4. Symons said the company expects significant news flow across its three projects into 2027. Freeport-McMoRan Eyes Leach Breakthrough, Bagdad Growth and Grasberg Recovery

Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) is pursuing growth through U.S. brownfield expansions, technology investments and the recovery of its Grasberg mine in Indonesia, President and CEO Kathleen Quirk said during a Morgan Stanley conference discussion. Quirk said copper remains the company’s central focus as

Time to Wake Up. Copper Stocks Are the AI Trade Everyone’s Sleeping On.

Everybody’s crowding into the same handful of AI chip names. Meanwhile, the actual bottleneck in the entire AI buildout is a metal that’s been around since the Bronze Age — copper. (Yes, the Chester Copper Pot metal, for my fellow Goonies fans. It always sneaks into my presentations.) And this week copper did something it hasn’t done in a very long time: it printed a brand-new all-time high while the physical supply underneath it keeps getting thinner. As I’m writing this, three-month copper on

Why Did Freeport-McMoRan Stock Drop On Doubts Over A Tariff It Would Gain From?

Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) stock fell 6.6% on Thursday to close at $71.21, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.6%. Copper sold off on surging yields and on reports that the White House has yet to decide on copper tariffs, raising concern the plan could be dropped over worries about higher manufacturing costs. That doubt lands on the part of Freeport that management says a tariff would help: its US business.

Freeport-McMoRan Eyes Grasberg Ramp-Up, U.S. Copper Growth From Leaching

Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) is prioritizing the ramp-up of its Grasberg operations in Indonesia, potential U.S. production growth and an emerging leaching technology initiative that management believes could materially expand copper recovery from previously mined material. Speaking at a Jefferies c

Copper, FCX Stock Plunge On Tariff Report, Surging Yields; Silver, Gold Also Fall

The copper price and shares of S&P 500 copper mining giant Freeport-McMoRan turned sharply lower on Thursday morning after a Reuters report cast doubt that the White House would broaden tariffs to cover refined copper. Tariff expectations had helped fuel a new copper price earlier this week. While copper fell the hardest, gold, silver and other precious metals prices also lost ground amid a firmer dollar, $100 U.S. crude oil and higher inflation-adjusted Treasury yields.

Canada tariffs put loonie, supply chains in focus as trade war deepens

Investing.com -- Canada’s C$27.6 billion retaliation against U.S. imports took effect on Tuesday, putting the Canadian dollar and North American supply chains under fresh pressure as investors assessed the risk that a widening trade war will drive up costs and disrupt cross-border commerce.
