US to Sell F-35s to Saudi Arabia in $24.3 Billion Deal

The State Department notified Congress that it plans to sell Saudi Arabia up to 48 F-35 warplanes in a first-time sale that could be worth as much as $24.3 billion. The sale of the Lockheed Martin Corp. fighter jet to Saudi Arabia has been in the works for a number of years. President Donald Trump signaled in November the US would sell F-35s to the Kingdom, offering Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman a prize he's long cherished, ahead of a visit to the White House that month. Meantime, the Pentagon and Lockheed Martin Corp. are moving to speed up the production of a new classified air-to-air missile for US Air Force and Navy jets that's seen as vital to deterring China. For more, we speak with Wayne Sanders, Senior Defense Research Analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence.

Why Has McDonald's Gone Quiet On Its Low-Income Customer?

McDonald's (MCD) stock fell 14.2% over the past 12 months, versus roughly 14.3% for the S&P 500, and now sits near its 52-week low. Over roughly the same stretch, management changed how it explains weak traffic. It used to point at customers outside its control. It now points at its own restaurants, and that makes the stock a different bet.

Why Does Generac Stock Cost More Than Its Faster-Growing Peers?

Generac (GNRC) trades at the highest earnings multiple in its five-company peer group on a trailing basis. Yet it ranks last of the five on revenue growth over the past year, and fourth on operating margin. The case for paying up rests on something the trailing numbers do not show yet: a data center order book that ships mostly in 2027.

Lam Research (LRCX) Stock Trades At A Premium On Bigger Shareholder Returns

Lam Research has delivered very strong gains over the past few years, which puts a lot of weight on one question for investors who care about valuation. Given that history, is the current share price properly grounded in the company’s earnings power today and what the market expects it to earn over time? Over the past 5 years, Lam Research has returned about 372%, which puts a spotlight on whether that kind of outcome is already fully reflected in the earnings profile investors are paying...
