Asian Market's May 2026 Stocks Possibly Priced Below Intrinsic Value

As inflationary pressures rise globally, driven by higher energy costs and geopolitical uncertainties, the Asian markets are navigating a complex economic landscape. In this environment, identifying stocks that may be priced below their intrinsic value can offer potential opportunities for investors seeking to capitalize on market inefficiencies.

Canadian regulator triples US streamers' financial contributions to Canadian content

Large online streaming services must contribute 15% of their Canadian revenues to Canadian content, the country's federal broadcast regulator said Thursday. The CRTC made the decision as part of its implementation of the Online Streaming Act, which the U.S. has identified as a trade irritant ahead of trade negotiations with Canada. “The total contributions are expected to stabilize the funding at more than $2 billion in support of Canadian and Indigenous content, such as French-language content and news,” the regulator said in a press release.

Spaceships, Quantum Chips Woo Investors Away From Consumer Concerns

Spaceships and quantum chips are becoming the latest objects of investors’ fascination—and the latest opportunity to exist in a world away from warning signs about U.S. consumers and fickle peace talks between the U.S. and Iran. Taken together, there is a sharpening contrast in markets between the wartime inflation surge and the promise of AI, aerospace, and emerging tech—which benefited Thursday from Nvidia strong earnings, federal investment in quantum computing and SpaceX’s leap toward the biggest IPO in history. “It’s really a dichotomy when you look at the consumer,” said Ken Mahoney, chief executive of Mahoney Asset Management.

Jensen Huang has bold new message after Nvidia Q1 beat

There is a moment in every market cycle when a single number stops being a number and becomes a verdict. For me, that moment hinges on two things in 2026: When the Federal Reserve speaks and, more specifically, right now, when Nvidia (NVDA) reports earnings as it did on May 20. For two years, when ...

Fed Chair Kevin Warsh Has a New Inflation Nightmare: AI Is Skyrocketing Prices

Kevin Warsh takes over as Fed Chair on Friday, May 22, inheriting an inflation problem that none of his predecessors faced. For four decades, falling semiconductor prices quietly held down U.S. inflation. That tailwind has reversed, and the AI infrastructure boom is the reason. Headline Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation ran at 4% in March, ... Fed Chair Kevin Warsh Has a New Inflation Nightmare: AI Is Skyrocketing Prices

Fed’s Long-Term Inflation Forecast Hits 19-Year High

For much of the past two years, Wall Street treated long-run inflation expectations as the boring part of the macro story. Short-run prints whipped around. The five-year horizon stayed anchored. That assumption broke this month. The Cleveland Fed just published its highest five-year inflation expectation in 19 years, a reading that sits above the levels ... Weekly Mortgage Rates Hit 6.51%, Highest Level Since August

Freddie Mac’s weekly 30-year fixed mortgage rate average rose 0.15 percentage point to 6.51%, the biggest weekly gain since late March and the highest rate since the week of August 28, 2025. Geopolitical uncertainty and concerns about inflation are among the factors dragging Treasury yields higher—and, by extension, mortgage rates. The iShares U.S. Home Construction exchange-traded fund, which tracks home builders, was down about 1.3%, while the 10-year Treasury yield, which informs the direction of mortgage rates, was 0.028 percentage point higher, to 4.620%.

In May 2026, Enbridge Inc. reported first-quarter 2026 results showing revenue of CA$22.36 billion and net income of CA$1.78 billion, while also participating in an industry conference and reacting to a new federal–provincial agreement enabling construction of a high-capacity crude oil export pipeline to British Columbia.
