After back-to-back Nasdaq record highs, investors are monitoring US diplomatic efforts with Iran and China, as well as a recent rally in tech stocks.

Stocks were on course to extend their recent rally on Friday as investors carried on loading up on tech names in particular in the aftermath of the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate hike. Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.6%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed 97 points, or 0.2%.

Investing.com -U.S. stock index futures rose Thursday, as the Federal Reserve’s first interest rate hike in three years helped ease market anxiety over the central bank’s commitment to quelling inflation.

Stocks were on track to open higher on Thursday as oil prices retreated and investors got over the worst of their worries about the Federal Reserve’s fight against inflation. Nasdaq 100 futures jumped 1.1%. The S&P 500 and the Dow both dropped the previous session after the Fed hiked interest rates for the first time in more than three years, with Chairman Kevin Warsh signaling there could be more tightening.

Stock futures were rising on Wednesday as investors opted to buy the dip ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy decision. Nasdaq 100 futures added 0.4%. Brent international futures slid 0.6% to $108.13 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate U.S. futures dropped 1.1% to $104.66 a barrel.

With oil prices pushing up to $104.50 a barrel as the U.S.-Iran conflict turns regional and the 10-year Treasury yield rising to 4.99%, two trip wires for the S&P 500 are flashing red. The CBOE Volatility Index, or VIX, known as the S&P 500 fear gauge, has climbed to 17.8, but remains well below the 20 level that signals a loss of composure.
