Sept 4 (Reuters) - Futures tracking the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 and the benchmark S&P 500 indexes rose on Friday ahead of jobs data that could test the recent momentum in equities.

Stock futures were rising on Friday as bond yields retreated ahead of the August nonfarm payrolls report, which will help decide the Federal Reserve’s next move on interest rates. Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.5%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slid 47 points, or 0.1%.

Although headline inflation is projected to decline, a far more important price-change measure is predicted to reaccelerate.

All eyes were on the August jobs report for clues about the health of the labor market and whether the data could tip Fed interest rate bets one way or the other.
