Federal prosecutors have charged two former staffers at Robinhood Markets with fraud, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the Southern District of New York. The complaint alleges that the two defendants were working as engineers at Robinhood when they used confidential company information to trade perpetual futures on the trading platform Hyperliquid. The former employees, Hefu Chai and Huaisong Xiang, allegedly used information in emails and Slack channels to buy perpetual futures linked to crypto tokens, ahead of announcements that those tokens would be listed on the Robinhood Crypto platform.

JPMorgan Chase is expecting growth in the “mid- to high-teens” for both investment-banking fees and markets revenue in the third quarter compared with the year-ago period, co-president Doug Petno said Tuesday. “In investment banking…we started the year with a strong pipeline, we started this quarter with a strong pipeline,” Petno said at a financial services conference hosted by Barclays. Petno said the bank, which is due to report third-quarter earnings on Oct. 13, is expecting lower markets revenue compared with its record-setting second quarter.
